THE SHUCKS DELUXE
Ingredients:
  • 4 large peaches, pits removed and cut in half
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tbsp. lime juice
  • 3 ounces vodka
  • 1 tbsp. lime juice
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 cup sprite
  • 4 slices of peaches, garnish
  • 2 rosemary sprigs, garnish
Prep:
  1. Using a food processor, add in the 4 peaches (pits removed), sugar and lime juice. Pulse until pureed. Pour the contents into a fine sieve over a bowl to catch the nectar. Using the back of a spoon, push through all the nectar you can and toss the bits that don’t make it through.
  2. [To make Rosemary Simple Syrup] Combine 2 cups of water, 2 cups of sugar, 3 tbsp. corn syrup and 1/4 cup rosemary leaves in a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and rest for 20 minutes. Strain into a glass and refrigerate until chilled.
  3. Using a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add in vodka, lime juice, honey, 2 tbsp. rosemary simple syrup, 4 tbsp. peach nectar and shake. Pour into two cocktail glasses filled with ice and top with Sprite and a splash of water. Garnish with two peach slices per drink and a rosemary sprig.
  4. Serves 2.

Four Eyes!

1 / 2 / 3

In the past few years I've noticed the slow decline in my vision, first it was far away street signs, then the score on the tv (not that that's a priority), and then the menu at fast food restaurants (again, not a priority). I actually think it has to do with the number of hours I spend staring at the glare of a computer screen, working all day and then blogging all night. But I've decided to embrace this new opportunity to rock some geeky eyewear, and so the online shopping begins! This is of course the most difficult of all purchases to make online, no matter how much time I spend virtually trying them on with the webcam (this is super fun, you must try it!). So friends I think it's time to actually try these glasses on. Like on my face. You may have heard of Warby Parker, who sends you 5 pairs of glasses to try and choose your favorite, as well as donating a pair to someone in need for every purchase you make! In my search for glasses I also found Tortoise & Blonde and See By Us, both with very attractive vintage-inspired frames. It'll be a tough decision since glasses can dominate a look like no other accessory can, so maybe I'll let you all take a vote once I narrow it down!

All About Summer Booties

I have always been a huge fan of ankle boots, and this summer have been rocking mine day and night. Although particularly a favorite for fall fashion, ladies should look above for stylish ways to pair them with flowy summer outfits.

The Morocco
Pinned Image

For the coriander simple syrup (makes plenty to jar and save):
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. honey
  • 3T. coriander seeds

For the drink:
  • 2 oz. orange liqueur
  • 2 oz. dry vermouth
  • 1 oz. coriander simple syrup
  • 5–6 dashes of bitters

Methodology
1. Heat the water, honey and coriander seeds over medium heat until it begins to boil. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour or longer; the longer it sits, the stronger the flavor. Drain the liquid from seeds and set aside.
2. To mix the drink, combine all ingredients (including the simple syrup, but not the seeds) over ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake and pour over ice and garnish with orange slices.

Destination: Bali

J.Crew traveled to the island paradise of Bali—home to ancient temples,
tropical fruits and even a monkey forest—to shoot their June Style Guide.
It seems J.Crew and I have more in common than our style, also our travel destinations (they also shot their Holiday Style in Courmayeur, Italy!)
Five facts you might not know about Bali:

1. Sacred sites:

This photo was taken at the Hindu temple Pura Kehen, one of the most sacred temples in Bali.
It was founded in the 11th century, which makes it over 1,000 years old.

2. Lingo lowdown:
Though famous for painting, sculpture and dance, the Balinese have no word for “art”
in their vocabulary.

3. Local color:
Colorful umbrellas, like the yellow one pictured here, can be spotted all over Bali. They’re used
for decoration and are also considered a symbol of protection.

4. Baby talk:
Until they turn three months old, Balinese babies are not allowed to touch the ground
and are carried everywhere.

5. Weather wonders:
Bali’s tropical monsoon climate means that it only has two seasons: dry (from April to October) and rainy (November to March).

Take me back....

Get The Look
No.6
Jasper Tank Dress ($415, 212.226.5759) in Black/Cream Multi Stripe
Every summer wardrobe should be equipped with at least one maxi dress, which is why we'd like to direct you to this truly stunning version by No.6. The ankle-grazing frock is swathed in indigenous/tribal stripes and cinches around the waist for a figure-flattering look. Style it with flat metallic sandals and a wide-brimmed hat for the day, then come evening, swap in a pair of chic wedges and colorful jewelry.

Mara Hoffman Embroidered Bustier Top ($207)
Mara Hoffman's spring collection is filled with amazing tribal-inspired prints like the one featured on this must-have bustier top. Not only is this piece in perfect keeping with the theme of today's story, but its vibrant pattern also offers the sultry top a playful twist. If you're not afraid to show off some skin, we suggest styling it with a high-waisted pencil skirt in blue or red, or you can always wear it with the designer's matching hot pants for a truly high-impact look.

Fallon Gold & Emerald Ines Mesh Necklace ($225)
Our next pick, a beautiful mesh necklace by Fallon, is obviously inspired by the ornate and lustrous gold jewelry worn by the Zamunda royal women. Embellished with Swarovski crystals, this regal piece will instantly elevate any ensemble. While it's sure to upgrade a fancier after-hours look, we also like the idea of using it to dress up a casual t-shirt and jeans combo-the outcome will be unexpectedly chic!

Hare+Hart Zero Waste Bangles ($40-55 each)
For a subtle way of trying today's look, consider Hare+Hart's colorful bangles! Every piece is made from recycled materials and hand painted in Argentina, so each one is unique. While versatile on their own, we think you should do as the Zamunda royal family does, and stack a handful of bracelets on your wrist for a statement-making color-block look.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Nail Lacquer ($19) in Pure Red
We could have selected any bright polish for today's story, but something about Estee Lauder's new-for-spring Pure Red felt like a perfect fit. Indeed, red is associated with power, happiness, and success-themes present throughout the film-but this classic shade will also look brilliant with a range of neutral and bright looks too, so it's a lacquer you can wear well through summer and into fall.

Kenny Sanders Pants ($198) in Lucky Cream
If a printed dress or top isn't your cup of tea, then you must consider these cool trousers by Kenny. The micro-sized pattern is perfectly on-trend for spring, while the relaxed, wide-leg cut guarantees a comfortable fit all day. Just be sure to keep them the focal point of your look by pairing them with a fuss-free, solid-colored top.

H&M Sandals ($18)
You can't very well head out on safari, or to the beach for that matter, in sky-high heels, which is why having a pair of flat sandals on hand for the warm weather months is key. Happily, you don't have to spend a fortune to snatch up a great style! Case in point: this sleek crisscross pair from H&M. Available in a versatile saddle brown hue, these sandals are perfect for grounding all your spring and summer looks, from a silky maxi dress to a tailored shorts and blouse combo.

Nanette Lepore Squeeze Me Skirt ($198) in Pond Multi
While we don't condone wearing actual animal skins like the Zamunda royal family, there is a cruelty-free way to get the look: Nanette Lepore's Squeeze Me Skirt. Pencil skirts are a lot like t-shirts-you can never really have enough styles-and this one is particularly desirable. The chic snake print offers the sophisticated silhouette a luxurious look, while the bright turquoise color keeps it feeling fresh and on-trend too!

Eddera Aurelie Elephant Clutch ($275) in Red
If you're looking for the perfect way to complete your Coming To America ensemble, this striking clutch by Eddera is just the piece you need. Featuring bold red suede fabric and a gold-plated elephant ornament, this clutch exudes plenty of elegance and style. Plus, it comes with a removable chain strap, so it can function as a petite day bag too.

Happy Monday!

I've realized some things about myself; I'm fickle. I kinda change my mind (some times a lot). And I get bored easily.  This week I'll be re-evaluating my life, what I want to do, where I want to be, with whom and why. There is always room for even more happiness <3
