happy hour thursday!

After some weekend evenings out, you may need that little extra kick the following morning. I recommend spicing up the traditional Bloody Mary with a little something special...

The Wasabi Bloody Mary
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
6 cups tomato juice
4 1/2 teaspoons wasabi paste
3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
1 1/4 teaspoons hot pepper sauce
3/4 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 cups vodka
Celery sticks for garnish

Combine lime juice & wasabi with a whisk until wasabi dissolves. Combine mixture with tomato juice, Worcestershire, pepper sauce & salt in a pitcher; chill. Stir in vodka & serve over ice. Garnish with a celery stick. Serves 8.

Enjoy! Xoxo.

future journey...

I've been fortunate to have travelled to many amazing places around the world, but one place I always wanted to go (when I was 15, this is where I dreamed my honeymoon would be...) is South Africa. When the day comes that I finally make it to South Africa, I will stay at Makanyane Safari Lodge, which lies hidden in lush riverside forests and was designed by a team of award-winning architects to effortlessly blend the lodge with its surroundings.

Makanyane consists of a main building and only eight suites, which lie hidden in a forest overlooking the Marico River. Rich with African textures and walls of natural rock and dried tree trunks that merge with rough teak doors and contrast with overhanging thatches, the glass walls allow uninterrupted views of the river and surrounding bush.

This day cannot come soon enough! Xoxo, lovelies!

st.kilda jewelry

i've become a little obsessed with st. kilda's line of jewelry. although i don't own any of their pieces yet, i'm sure i will in the near future. below are their very popular loved rings... the first picture is of the men's ring -  18k white gold with two diamonds, on the inside of the ring. Gotta say, I LOVE it! the second picture is of the womans loved ring - with loved and the diamonds on the outside of the ring. definitely check out their blog and website, all of their pieces are absolutely stunning. gotta get me one of those!

sweet nothings.

sweet summer nights, can't come soon enough...

if i were to give my lovah a v-day gift...

SCRABBLE COOKIES!! the best part is you can write any personalized message you like! its best to use a basic sugar cookie recipe, and royal icing to decorate. martha stewart has the best basic recipes. feel free to use food coloring and black piping to decorate the cookies any way you like. it helps, if like me, you are with someone who rocks at scrabble! xoxo.

a country life...

i've had dreams of moving down south for several years now, and although i'm not ready yet... one day when i do, i would like my home to be some what similar to the above. its really comfortable and homey looking and makes you just want to relax. xoxo

Soon To Be My New Office Space

I'm hoping to duplicate one of the following office spaces when I eventually move. When I was little, I use to re-arrange my bedroom furniture weekly. I would also try to rearrange the furniture throughout the house, but that didn't last too long with my mother. Now that I have a tiny NYC apartment, there is not much to do with the space, so I am super excited to finally have my own, larger apartment to which I can change whenever I see fit. One day soon, I will attempt to master one of the below office spaces.

i die... for fashion

in the words of rachel zoe, i'd die for this dress. i've officially found my next party dress....
absolutely stunning. xoxo

Paris... My One True Love

I have always loved Paris. Its a city full of lights, people and love. There is a reason people believe it is the City of Romance. On my recent trip, I couldn't help but dream of all of the possibilities... so many choices to make in ones life. I also couldn't help but admire the fabulous fashionista's who roam the cobble stone streets (as well as enjoy some amazing macarons!)

HAPPY HOUR THURSDAYS!

On my recent trip to Italy and Paris, I became a lover of Persecco so you can imagine how delighted I was to find a recipe for A Rose Persecco Pleasure.... sounds delicious!!

A Rose Prosecco Cocktail

1 bottle prosecco (or substitute your favorite pink champagne)
4-6 tablespoons rose syrup (found at specialty suppliers or make your own)
Pour the prosecco into the serving glasses. Drizzle the rose syrup gently on top, allowing it to trickle down to the bottom & create a pretty effect as you serve. Serving quantity will vary based on glass size served.
