HAPPY HOUR THURSDAYS...

This cocktail is a classic with a twist, which in essence is a little how I see myself. Every girl should be lucky enough to have her own signature drink to sip away at on a day all about her! I highly recommend it for your New Year's soiree.

Rosemary Infused Greyhound
1 oz Grapefruit Juice
1 oz Herb’s Rosemary Infused Vodka (or make your own!)
1 tsp Organic Sugar
1 Sprig of Fresh Rosemary for garnish

In a shaker, add rosemary vodka and grapefruit juice. Stir and serve over ice in a sugar-rimmed (technically this makes it closer to a Salty Dog - don't sugar your rim for a more classic Greyhound) rocks or martini glass. Serves 1.

Finally Friday... 12.10

well ladies this weekend i turn the big 28! well, not so big, but i'm starting to feel my age. its finally my time to start exploring everything this wonderful world has to offer and meet so many more awesome people... and i can't wait to get started! the festivities will be being with cake and champagne of course!

no no no... my cake won't look like this... but it would have if i didn't decide to share my birthday with a good friends significant other. instead my birthday cake will look like this (if you haven't already noticed, i'm obsessed with all things cake!)
my absolute favorite bakery is The Rivera Bakehouse located in Ardsley, NY. worth the trip if anyone is ever close by. i have some pretty fabulous friends who always lend me a car just to drive from the city upstate.

each year i gather my closest and dearest for my birthday. and each year we toast to yet another year of great friendships, life lessons and most importantly happiness and health. the festivities wouldn't be nearly as grand without some Champagne

and lastly, (and possibly the most important!) the birthday gal's costume by DVF for the evening....

HAPPY HOUR THURSDAYS!

Thursday nights used to be my favorite nights... the perfect night in NYC to hit up many happy hours! SO...each Thursday I will feature a most delicious cocktail for my fabulous readers to enjoy. I am currently craving a Ron y Pina. It is only 11am here in New York, but once 5pm hits, its on!

INGREDIENTS:
2oz rum
4oz pineapple juice
1 lime slice

DIRECTIONS:
Pour rum over ice in highball glass.
Stir in pineapple juice and add lime slice.

COMMENTS:
The drink of choice on Roatan, Ron y Piña (rum and pineapple) is an deliciously refreshing way to toast the sunset. The mildly sweet, fairly acidic flavor of pineapple juice smooths out the rum’s bite while not overpowering the drink with sweetness. The drink can be made more tart by apply small squeezes of juice from the lime slice.

Note: Best with amber or spiced rums, especially with Flor de Caña Gold 4 Year, an amazing “bottom-shelf” rum served in most Roatan bars.

some days...

this is all i want to be doing. xoxo

may i recommend...

to anyone that currently resides in the fabulous city of new york, i must suggest you try this new restaurant called The Lion. i happen to get a tuesday night reservation, and i have to say, it was well worth it. the lobster pot pie and cheesecake in a jar (just the names themselves are mouth watering!) were absolutely delicious. located in the heart of the west village, the trendy little restaurant offers a homey and welcoming bar. if you can't make it for dinner, at least pop in for a drink (or two!) i tried the lions paw - a cucumber infused vodka - that was insanely good!
